I've always loved the "film noir" atmosphere in the old movies. The marriage of light and dark, where the light highlights the most dramatic elements of the moment.
 
"Silent Reflection" is a piece I absolutely fell in love with from the initial sketch phase. The eyes balance beautifully with the pearls on her necklace and ring, all of which draw you in completely to the emotion of this piece. The hands placed delicately over the ears, as if shutting out surrounding sound, whilst she is lost in her own moment. It's a piece I love spending time with, in silence.
 
With the dark background and grey to white tones, this piece will sit beautifully with the light source glancing across it to pick out those whiter tones.
