"Absorption" by definition is the act or process of absorbing or the condition of being absorbed. A state of mental concentration.
 
This piece captures this beautifully. The marriage of classic and abstract styles not only play with light and shadow, but they also highlight the emotion of the cellist giving herself over completely to the energy of the music created by her flow of movement.
 
This being the second piece in a trio collection, “Absorption” sits perfectly beside “Perseverance”, whilst they await the arrival of the final piece.
